I was just in the process of prepping to fix the trussrod in and I noticed that I seem to have wound up in a situation where there is nothing to stop the truss rod from sliding backwards and forward in the slot.
I'm guessing this is not right, but can really see what would normally stop it
Hey Jonathan - That's normal. We normally push it as far back as it will go (towards the body end). This way it cannot slide back any further so could only potentially move forwards but - it won't move once the fillet and fretboard are glued. Pinky promise.
If you have made the slot way too long and you are worried it will slide in further, then you can fill the slot with a short 1/4" fillet at the end of the slot for the truss rod to butt up against.
Let me know if that helps or no 🙂
Measure twice, cut once...
@markbailey It depends on how big your rod is, it could be a struggle to get it into a slot sometimes. ✊😆
Sorry, that was very childish.
